Military Code of Conduct for People’s Defense Force
Soldier’s rules
1. Battle shall be fought only for the military ambitions
2. The required forces shall only be used and managed in conducting military operations to ensure the least destruction or damaged.
3. Shall protect the civilians and shall not damage to the civilians’ properties.
4. Shall respect the religious buildings and cultural heritage.
5. Shall not violate the Law of Armed Conflicts.
6. The leaders of the troop shall manage their members of the troop impartially, and indiscriminately by demonstrating their ideal leadership accordingly.
7. Shall respectfully abide the command and duties given by the different chain of command
8. Shall cooperate with troop members by upholding comrade spirit.
9. Shall not discriminate any individual based on their ethnicity, religion, gender, and sexual orientation.
10. Shall not use any drugs
11. Shall not get involved in any social scandal.
Targeting (warfare)
1. Mechanisms of the dictatorship shall only be defeated.
2. Civilians shall not be threatened, targeted and attacked
3. Schools, hospitals, religious building, cultural sites, and public spaces shall not be targeted.
4. Ambulances, healthcare facilities, first aid and healthcare service providers, and social rescue team members shall not be targeted.
Code of conduct in treating surrenders and captives
1. Surrenders and captives shall not be tortured and murdered
2. Surrenders and captives shall be treated in accordance with the provisions of the Geneva Convention.
3. Informing to the family members, providing healthcare, and detaining men and women separately, if detention is required, shall be done accordingly.
Code of Conduct in engaging with the civilians
1. Shall respectfully engage with the civilians.
2. Shall not perform discourteous actions, harassment, torture, and insult the civilians
3. Shall not insult the women, and people with diverse sexual orientation physically, mentally, and sexually.
4. Shall pay the price for the civilian belongings or properties used during the emergency conditions
5. Shall not use civilians as human shields or hostages.
6. Shall protect and provide necessary supports to the vulnerable groups such as children, the disabled, women, and the aged.
Code of Conduct in treating women and children
1. Shall not conduct any impairment to physical integrity, dishonoring, depreciating, sexual exploitation and terrorizing the women.
2. Shall not perform any sexual activities and terrorizing the underaged children.
